FISHING
THE OCEANA MOTEL GUIDE
CAST A LINE AT OCEANANA
Fishing on the Pier
Fishing is a way of life on the Crystal Coast, and the pier is right next to the motel. Wake up early, walk to the end with your rod and a cup of coffee, and watch the sun come up over the Atlantic. Then come back to Oceanana to rest up.
Pier Fishing
Walk out over the water and fish the same waves the locals do. The pier is a relaxed spot for beginners, kids and seasoned anglers alike, with the chance to reel in species like spot, bluefish, Spanish mackerel and flounder depending on the season. Bring your own gear or pick up bait and tackle nearby.
Best Times to Fish
Early morning and around sunset are usually the most rewarding, when the water is calm and the fish are feeding. Spring and fall bring plenty of action, and summer evenings are lovely for a laid-back cast with the family. Check local regulations and licensing requirements before you head out.
Stay Close to the Water
Staying at Oceanana puts the pier minutes from your door. Fish in the morning, then spend the afternoon on our private beach or by the pool, with complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas waiting for you. Everyone in the family gets a day on the water, whether they hold a rod or not.
